Acerca de Yordanka
My objective as a teacher is to motivate my students to develop their own learning interests and critical thinking and to establish a learner-centered environment in the classroom. During my career I have taught students of various cultural backgrounds and a wide range of courses – from beginner English and Spanish to official exam preparation courses. This has made me aware of the needs and interests of culturally and ethnically diverse learners. As a result, I prepare lesson plans always considering the student´s own knowledge, culture and learning abilities, and current debates on social issues. I choose content and activities that are both meaningful and challenging for the students so that they feel involved in their own learning process. I believe that clear instruction and open communication with students is a key element in helping them learn.
