Acerca de Daniela
About Me
My name is Daniela, I am 34 years old, originally from Costa Rica, and I have been living in Colombia for the past eight years. I have also lived in Brazil and Uruguay, which has allowed me to experience different cultures and communication styles firsthand.
As a native Spanish speaker who is also fluent in English and Portuguese, I understand what it feels like to learn and adapt to a new language. Having gone through that process myself, I know the challenges, insecurities, and breakthroughs that come with learning something new — and that helps me guide my students with patience and empathy.
I have experience teaching languages to children, teenagers, and adults in different countries. These experiences helped me develop the ability to adapt my teaching style depending on each student’s personality, pace, and goals.
I consider myself a positive, open-minded, responsible, and disciplined person. I am warm and patient, and I truly believe that creating a safe and supportive environment is essential for language learning. When students feel comfortable, they progress naturally.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy exercising, practicing yoga, making handmade scented candles, and spending quality time with my son. I believe balance and well-being reflect in the way I teach — with calmness, energy, and dedication.
My goal is not only to help you learn Spanish, but to help you feel confident and comfortable using it in real-life situations.

My Teaching Approach (Spanish Lessons for English Speakers)
My teaching philosophy is based on learning through enjoyment and real-life connection. I believe that a language is not learned only through grammar rules, but by actively using it, listening to it, and building confidence step by step.
Since I am trilingual and have personally learned languages through immersion, I deeply understand the challenges English speakers face when learning Spanish. That allows me to explain concepts clearly in English when needed, while gradually encouraging students to think and communicate in Spanish.
I personalize every lesson according to each student’s goals, interests, and level. I love incorporating dynamic materials such as short videos, music, articles, role-plays, real-life conversations, and cultural content. When lessons are engaging and relevant, progress becomes natural and enjoyable.
While I do teach essential grammar structures, my classes are not focused only on theory. My goal is for students to speak Spanish confidently, improve pronunciation, and feel comfortable communicating in real-life situations from the very beginning.
What Does a Class Look Like?
My lessons usually last between one hour and one and a half hours, depending on your needs. They are highly interactive and conversation-centered. A typical class may include:
Guided conversation practice
Practical explanation of key grammar structures
Vocabulary applied to everyday situations
Pronunciation correction
Listening and comprehension exercises
Cultural insights to understand how Spanish is truly spoken
I create a safe space where making mistakes is part of the learning process. My priority is helping students feel confident and motivated.
