The 30yo entrepreneur, CEO of Opera Co-Pro, Ambra Sorrentino, is an opera manager with more than ten years’ experience working for top EU companies and music organizations such as the Teatro San Carlo Foundation in Naples, Puccini Festival Foundation, Teatro Goldoni Livorno Foundation, Oper Leipzig, Ravello Festival, Salerno State Conservatoire.
Due to the arising need to find co-production partners, in 2017 she founded Opera Co-Pro, the first online marketplace to share, rent and sell opera productions. With over 3500 contacts worldwide, the company is the first global network of opera productions and covered 10% of the worldwide market after only one year with clients ranging from Deutsche Oper Berlin, Montpellier Opera, Teatro Regio Torino, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Welsh National Opera, Opera North Leeds, Eesti Kontsert Tallinn, Philharmonia Orchestra, Orchestra di Santa Cecilia etc.
Opera Co-Pro is the operatic manifesto to diversity and multiculturalism, a virtual meeting point to share inspirational ideas and finding the perfect match to make them true.
Before launching Opera Co-Pro, AS was responsible of the London headquarters of a 200 artists management agency.
A devoted to help and discover new talents, she was President of the GITAP Music Association- a charity supporting the training of young music managers and young artists-, as well as General Manager of the “Concerto Giacomo Maggiore”, an exchange project between retired opera artists helping the new generations. Furthermore, she was Erasmus on Stage executive and production manager and responsible for a huge amount of concerts, masterclasses and events featuring young artists, such as the European Opera Days Pozzuoli 2014, the Bayerische Staatsoper Opera Studio Masterclass, the Luca Canonici Masterclass in Naples.
She completed a master’s degree in Economics and Management of Cultural Heritage and Performing Arts at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, a bachelor’s degree with top marks in Theatre Studies at the Salerno University and a Diploma in Harp at Salerno Conservatoire. She was also a student of the Opera Management Course by Opera Europa in Bregenz.
