Acerca de Raúl
Obtuve el título Cambridge Proficiency (C2) a los quince años después de cuatro años viviendo en los Estados Unidos, durante los cuales aprendí inglés a nivel nativo. A lo largo de esta etapa me beneficié en gran medida del énfasis que el sistema educativo, tanto privado como público, pone sobre el uso del lenguaje.
Merece comentar que visito el Reino Unido con frecuencia, especialmente Londres y Edimburgo, por lo que estoy familiarizado con el gran abanico de acentos y expresiones del mundo anglosajón así como su cultura. Actualmente estudio ingeniería mecánica en inglés en la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, y he tenido la suerte de realizar tercero de carrera en la prestigiosa universidad de Georgia Tech, en Atlanta. Tengo más de tres años de experiencia dando clases a particulares y grupos de diversas edades.

I received the Cambridge Proficiency certificate (C2) at the age of fifteen after spending four years living and studying in the United States. I benefited greatly from the emphasis on language arts, particularly reading and writing, present in the American private and public education system.
What’s more, I visit the United Kingdom frequently, particularly London and Edinburgh, leading to my familiarity with the great swath of accents of the English-speaking world as well as its culture. I currently study mechanical engineering at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and was fortunate enough to spend my third year abroad at the Georgia Institute of Technology, in the city of Atlanta. I have spent over three years teaching English to individual students and groups of varying ages.

Mis clases se centran en practicar el speaking de manera constante, usando casi exclusivamente el inglés para mejorar poco a poco. La lectura de artículos, libros y otros formatos y su posterior discusión también son claves para mejorar las habilidades de comprensión y expresión y expandir el vocabulario. Asimismo, el writing se practica de forma más libre, siendo esencial el uso de expresiones y vocabulario diferente al usual para conseguir una identidad lingüística propia y precisa de gran utilidad en el mundo académico y profesional. Finalmente, la gramática y otros elementos del use of English (como el sentido de expresiones cotidianas) se entrelazan con el resto el speaking, reading, y writing para aprender todo en su contexto.
Con mis clases podrás preparar y aprobar el First Certificate, el Advanced, e incluso el Proficiency, además de exámenes como el IELTS o el TOEFL. Asimismo, podrás mejorar tu writing, reading, o speaking desde y hasta el nivel que tú desees y conversar sobre temas del momento y obras de literatura en un alto nivel de inglés.

The focus of my lessons is the constant use and practice of English in conversation, using this language almost exclusively in order to guarantee gradual improvement. The discussion of books, articles, and other media formats is key to improve comprehension and expressions skills and expand one’s vocabulary. Similarly, I prefer to practice writing in a freer way, with emphasis on the use of alternative and less common expressions and terms as a means to develop a particular linguistic identity, essential in academics and the workplace.
With the aid of my lessons, you will be able to obtain the Cambridge First, Advanced, or even Proficiency certificate, in addition to titles like IELTS or TOEFL. What’s more, you will be able to improve your writing, reading, or speaking skills starting at and up to the level you desire and discuss current topics and works of literature with excellent English.
