Acerca de Freya
Hola, me llamo Freya. Soy Británica y Neozelandesa. Vivo en Quart de Poblet desde un año. Yo hablo inglés, alemán y ahora aprendo castellano. He estudiado bellas artes, filosofía, estudios críticos y fotografía y ahora trabajo como artista fotográfica, editora de libros de arte, ensayista, crítica de arte y profesora de inglés. Todo eso suena muy serio, pero en realidad, creo que el idioma inglés tiene mucho espacio para jugar. Cuando comienzas a comprender la historia del idioma, comprendes cuánto cambia y crece y cuánto está influenciado por tantas fuerzas externas. El inglés es maleable, y por eso me encanta enseñarlo.

For better or for worse, English has become the international language of the sciences, medicine, the arts, tourism, hospitality and much more. But do not stress! Thankfully, English has many rules that you can play with. It won't take much to get you speaking confidently with native English speakers, just some practice and some tricks. My teaching methods are immersive and practical. We will talk. That is the main goal. With younger students, I structure lessons around their interests. Is your daughter very interested in volcanic rocks? No problem! We will learn Past Perfect with a lesson about volcanoes. With my adult students, I take my time to get to know exactly what they need to use English for and craft my lessons around what skills they need the most. We will not memorise grammar tables, but if you want to ask me about grammar, I can give you the simple answer and a mnemonic device to help you remember, or, I can tell you about the linguistic history of a particular grammatical feature. I am a big nerd who loves learning useless information. My classes are immersive. I only speak in English with my students. To start with, you are welcome to respond in Spanish until you get some confidence. You can also write to me in Spanish to arrange your classes, but try to challenge yourself! If you contact me in English, I can get an idea of your level!
