My Approach to Teaching and Transmitting the Spanish Language My philosophy is simple: I teach you to master Spanish from the perspective of a language professional. Teaching Techniques and Methodology My method moves away from simple memorization to focus on real-world comprehension and use of the language. Analytical and Structural Approach: We treat grammar as the "map" of the language, not just a set of boring rules. My experience allows me to break down the most complex Spanish structures so you can understand them logically and retain them permanently. Practical Immersion in Real Contexts: You will learn the Spanish that is used today. We use authentic materials like news articles, podcasts, videos, and literature to practice the four key skills: speaking about current topics, writing meaningful texts, interpreting messages, and translating ideas accurately. Translation as a Strategic Tool: We use your own language as a smart bridge to Spanish. Translation helps us understand nuances, avoid common errors (false friends), and accelerate your grasp of complex concepts. Sample Class Structure (60 minutes) The goal is for you to actively use the language from the very first minute. A typical class on a current event would look like this: Conversation and Warm-up (10 min): We start with a chat in Spanish about the topic of the day to activate your fluency and vocabulary. Content Analysis (20 min): We read an article or watch a short video. First, we focus on interpreting the main message. Then, we analyze key vocabulary and the most important grammatical structures together. Skills Workshop (20 min): Here, you apply what you've learned: Speaking: We discuss the ideas presented in the article. Writing: You draft a short paragraph expressing your opinion. Translating: We translate a few key sentences to ensure a deep understanding. Review and Next Steps (10 min): We review the main points and I give you a small practical task, like looking up a specific word in different contexts, so you continue learning outside of class.
